South Beach is the most popular among all the best beaches in Miami. It’s all about tourist action and the party crowd, especially on the weekends. The beach is well maintained and regularly cleaned every morning so if you prefer quiet, go on weekday morning. There are beach umbrellas and chairs for rent and a few public concessions.

Each hotel with beach access also has a booth on the beach that caters to their guests. Many restaurants, shops, and bars are along famous Ocean Drive across from the beach. Parking can get expensive so take public transportation or walk/bike from your hotel.

 

Haulover Park Beach is one of the most peaceful public beaches in Miami on weekdays but it can get busy on weekends as it’s frequented by locals. It’s located at the northern tip of Miami Beach island, just a few minutes drive from South Beach. The beach has a natural feel because there’re no hotels looming behind your back as you sit on the white sand.

There are no beach umbrellas/chairs for rent and clothing is optional at the northern part of the beach! There is a large parking lot, but no restaurant is onsite so bring a picnic.You can reach there by public transportation.

 

Bill Baggs Beach is a great place for the whole family. It’s located at the tip of Key Biscayne Island, in Bill Baggs State Park by a picturesque lighthouse. There are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent and many local Miami families enjoy their weekends barbecues there.

Matheson Hammock Beach is an excellent choice for families with small children and toddlers. Located in Matheson Hammock Park, the beach includes a calm and shallow cove for your little ones to explore. There’s a popular high-end restaurant onsite, Red Fish Grill, open for dinner only. The park entrance fee includes parking and follow the Atoll beach sign until you reach the parking lot behind the restaurant.
