Forbes Travel Guide released its annual Global Star Ratings, honoring the finest hotels, restaurants, and spas in the world in 2016.

They evaluated over 500 criteria with the ratings based on three levels: Five Star, Four Star, and Recommended. Only one hotel earned a rating from Fort Lauderdale, with the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale earning four stars.

• Ten Miami hotels received four stars: The Betsy South Beach, The Biltmore, Four Seasons Hotel Miami, Loews Miami Beach Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton (4x – Bal Harbour, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, and South Beach), Trump International Beach Resort, and Trump National Doral Miami.
• Two Miami hotels were recommended: Fontainebleau Miami Beach and Turnberry Isle Miami.
