Step Inside No Name Chinese, the New Restaurant From the Uvaggio Guys – Eater Miami

The team behind Coral Gables wine bar Uvaggio, Heath Porter and Craig DeWald, have officially debuted their latest restaurant, No Name Chinese (7400 SW 57th Street) in South Miami. As one might guess, the restaurant has a Chinese influence thanks to executive chef Pablo Zitzmann, who spent a few months in China studying from dumpling masters.

The extensive menu features a variety of small plates and dim sum bites like crispy chicken oysters, smashed cucumber salad, and dumplings filled with everything from spicy chicken to red Ossabaw pork shoulder. Bigger dishes feature new takes on “old school classics” like kung pao chicken, salt and pepper shrimp and Mongolian long beans. Then there are the more unique offerings like snapper topped in a Sichuan peppercorn curry and roasted duck breast served with a mango house-made hoisin sauce and moo shu pancakes.

As for beverages, just like its sister restaurant Uvaggio it showcases a diverse wine list like rose from Turkey, vintages from the Canary Islands and even some wines served by the glass out of magnum bottles. Plus, a variety of teas from places like Sri Lanka and Egypt, seasonal sodas and local beers.

The 75-seat space, which is housed in a former baby store, showcases an exposed brick wall, navy blue subway-style tiling, wooden floors, a large blue and white Chinese mural, and a 12-seat marble wok bar where guests can get a firsthand view of the chefs showing off their “wok & roll” skills, according to Porter.
