Brickell has a variety of places of worship to attend. Residents, visitors and tourists are welcome to attend all services at these religious establishments.
First Presbyterian Church of Miami is located at 609 Brickell Avenue. Families with children are welcome to attend Sunday services at 11:00 am. Adult Bible study is on Sunday at 10:00am in the fellowship hall. Sunday school for children ages 5 years old through elementary school has a Bible study lesson and activities such as a craft, video or game. The nursery is staffed with professionals for children up to 5 years old from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Sunday mornings in the school section of the church. Young adults of all ages are invited to participate on the kickball team “609” for an opportunity to meet and get to know others from the church. The game is on Thursday nights and afterwards there is time to socialize. Women’s Bible study is on Friday mornings at different homes. Call the church office for times and locations. They also have a Women’s book club that meets on Tuesday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:15pm. The book discussions are about the book and how it relates back to spiritual lives. Gesu Catholic Church was established by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus. Henry Flagler donated land that the original wooden church was built on. In 1921 a new church of concrete and steel was built because of the growing Catholic community in Miami. It has been a spiritual ambassador to Catholics living in South Florida. The church has a Gesu school with grades from elementary through high school and is run by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The mass schedule is Monday through Saturday 8:15am, 11:00am Spanish and 12:10pm English. Sunday masses are 8:30am, 10:00am Spanish, 11:30am English and 1:00pm Spanish.
